ABOUT ABOUT

You're invited to join us in "Finding our Past through Archaeology," a special event presented by The Fairfield Foundation on Sunday, September 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Dozier’s Regatta Point Marina located at 137 Neptune Lane in Deltaville, Virginia.

Dr. David Brown and Thane Harpole, Co-Directors of The Fairfield Foundation, will present the results of archaeological studies at Sandwich, the old customs house In Urbanna. Through these excavations, a deeper look at the history of Urbanna was revealed.

The Foundation investigates all aspects of our region’s history through a variety of hands-on excavation and lab opportunities. They also strive to bring the past to life by helping the public see, question and participate in the process of discovering history. In addition, the foundation is committed to helping property owners, businesses, educational institutions, local governments and the general public identify, learn about and promote their historical resources—including buildings, archaeological sites, documents and oral history—to ensure their survival for future generations.

Tickets are $25 and include appetizers with a cash bar.

Tickets purchased here will be placed on a “will call” list that we will have at the door to check your name off as having purchased tickets.

In addition, you may make a check out to the Middlesex County Museum and mail it to the Middlesex County Museum, or come by the museum Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and purchase tickets in person.
